Jack was nervous, he'd never met an auror before, but knew what the did...and he'd wanted that lifestyle since 4th year...since he knew that he could help wizards that way. He looked to Alice as from where he sat and as there was a group of people hovering at the end of the room he went up standing infront of the desk.
"Hi, Mrs Longbottom...?" He took a nervous but steady breathe, "What would suggest...if you want to be an auror?"
Alice had seated herself in the vacant room only to soon find several people inside as well all looking nervous to speak with her. She found the situation rather amusing seeing as how she looked and acted fairly harmless.
One particular boy walked up to her and she gave him a faint but warm smile. "I would suggest doing outside reading for transfiguration, Defense Against the dark Arts and potions." She nearly wrinkled her nose at the last mention seeing as how potions had been the bane of her existence.
"What about cost? Length?" he said, his eyes warm, he never usually trated a stranger like this, but he had the uptmost respect for a woman who wanted to do such a dangerous career, another reason he liked Dorcas.
"I think the subjects wont be to easy to handle, I've been outside reading for those since 4th year" he added humbly.
"The length is three years if you do well though it's not uncommon at all for people to take up to five if they aren't performing up to ministry standards. As far as cost there is none other than supplies and such. You're given a salary once you start the programme in June."
She sat back listening to his last remark and biting back a bit of a smile. She herself had certainly been well read but that didn't mean the ministry wasn't a complete and total kick in the arse. Of course that was the point wasn't it?
