Because generally, they send you back in time so that you die by living, but time seems to work a little differently here. So logically, that could happen. But I haven't seen proof.

Wonderful. Is there anything else that I need to know about them because I'm getting these sense that having a kerosene lamp might be a wise decision once the sun goes down.

Oh yes. A lamp is a good idea, as long as you have replacement fuel. Another good idea is someone you trust to watch your back. As many someones as possible, really.

Also it is possible I'm being Bella again. There's a statue of a guy on a horse. They both look pissed. I'm blink-winking. I'm not going to turn to stone or anything am I? You could decorate the apartment with me if I did. Just don't chop off my arms so I'm more Venus de Milo or what ever her name is.

In my universe, they survive on potential energy by sending you back in time so that you die by living. Of course, the potential energy here is completely skewed. I imagine there's a large group of them, like moths, flinging themselves against the barrier of the Clock right now.

Not particularly, not for myself, anyway. I know how to deal with them, and if they do manage to send me back in time to try and kill me, at the very least I'll get a nice look at the City's history.
