oh one of my mom's old friends wrote the book that Wicked the Musical is based on. Have you read it? It's quite good, I like his earlier stuff because that's what we always had around the house, he has a few children's books that are reall amazing. i do like his newer, more adult fairy tales though, a new version of snow white just came out that i would like to read.

Your mother is friends with Gregory Maguire??????? Yeah, I've read it. I just saw the show last week too. The book is MUCH better than the musical, but I LOVED the musical as well... so I guess that says a lot about the book. I am going to buy the snow white book and read that one too... because it looks wonderful!!!!!

yeah she grew up with him in albany, and we still get letters and things from him now, though he lives in england and cambridge. he and his partner and their kids were just up in maine this summer, actually. my mom really wants to see the musical, his christmas letter this year was so cheesy, it had all these horribly wicked references in it, quite cute really, but lame haha.

This is quite possibly the coolest thing I've heard all day!!!! Yeah, the book is SO much different from the show... but tell your mom that she has to go!!! And you have to go with her.
