iphone apps

i've just been gifted an ipod touch (like an iphone, but no phone capabilities. also it's ancient, 1st gen, so no camera, flashlight, or even mic). this means i can have APPS! oh goodness. so tell me, where do i even start?

(lack of phone-network capabilities also means internet-connected apps will be minimally useful)

Start in the app store. Buy Scrabble. That will be pretty much the day, since you'll spend the rest of it playing scrabble. (That's been the experience around my house anyway).

You definitely want to spend 99 cents on Cut the Rope, an adorable physics game. I also like Labyrinth a lot.

Some kind of basic text editor is always a good idea.

I'm planning to continue using period tracker lite, when I convert my phone back to a ipod touch, it'll still work because I think the data is all stored locally? I like it for its pleasingly comprehensive selection of mood indicators and symptom indicators. When I was tracking my pmdd symptoms it was invaluable...and you can add custom moods, too. When I deleted allllllll my extra/downloaded apps, this was one of the two I kept (the other was the weight watchers app).

Yay apps! Hope you find some fun ones.

love these suggestions, thank you! especially teavana -- that's exactly the kind of minor yet useful thing i'm looking for.

You Are Your Own Gym is a great app for bodyweight workouts based on the Mark Lauren book. It has all the exercises categorised and detailed and timers you can plug the exercises into to do complex kinds of interval training like ladders , supersets and tabatas ( ... )
