I want to darken my hair up a bit before the england trip, but I don't want to pay for a salon trip.   So I'm going to attempt to do it myself for the first time since I was a teenager.   This won't go well, I'm pretty sure.

No set plans other than Friday night in Sheff and seeing the Liverpool Pompey game. Liverpool's a pretty decent team, right??

Feria! I only use Feria. The others just come out too flat looking.

If you think you'll want to get highlights or lighten it for summer, I wouldn't use anything permanent. I use Herbal Essences in black. It's semi-permanent (24 shampoos?) and its just a little darker than my hair color. I dyed it around New YEars and it's still pretty dark about a month later. Sabrina has told me never to use Feria in black because it takes so much to lighten it. She basically said trying to strip the color is a very long and painful process.

I plan on keeping it dark from here on out, actually! I used to lighten it in summer, but my hair's so freaking dark on it's own that the roots were a pain in the ass. I went with a "dark brown" that looked black on the package (I think it was from perfect 10) and it's just a tad darker than my normal hair color, but lots glossier... which is exactly what I wanted!

Good for you! I want to keep mine dark too, no more highlights. I do however want to put purple streaks in it. Somehow I've gone from being 27 to being 15.
