Our nanny kind of rubs me the wrong way sometimes.  I feel like she thinks I'm a bad mom.  The first time I met her, she made a comment about how I burped Donovan (the exact same way my mom burped her kids, and it's always worked really well - the kid burps like a frat boy doing a keg stand

She's just being the Ethnic Grandma. I have one for real in my family and she's always making comments about my parenting. I think it's how they show their love. Either that or we are both shitty moms. (NOT TRUE.)

In fact, when we told her we were pregnant with Aili she said we should have been more careful. Yes. The 90 year old Italian grandma who had 7 kids and is more Catholic than the Pope said we should have been more careful. I take her with one big effing grain of salt.

Someday you won't even bat an eye at other people's comments because you are Mom and you are Right. :)

That's pretty much what I decided! The kid is the picture of perfect health and has been since day 1, so I'm doing SOMETHING right. And I bundled him up like mad when it was cold out, but now I worry more about keeping him cool than keeping him warm. He gets sweaty REALLY easily, and that makes him grumpy! I'm surprised he doesn't protest with all the blankets she keeps him under at her place.

Seriously though babe, you gotta think some of your roles are going ot overlap and there's going to be some resentment on both sides. At the end of the day be glad she's over protective rather than giving Donovan a bandsaw to play with. She's doing what you pay her for at the end of the day, though if you continue to have issues, I'd definitely start getting my Come to Jesus meeting ready.

we've had the same problem with lots of older women -- they all think that rusty is going to DIE if he isn't covered head to toe all the time. he's a really hot little guy! usually he's too hot -- only once or twice has he ever been too cold.

Donovan's the same way! If anything, I'm usually worried about keeping him cool!
