It wasn't an unfair question -- it's not as though I hadn't considered writing insipid vampire romances, wars between bloodsuckers and lycanthropes, had given her meager pages of it in the past (and to her, I'm probably still that same 14 year old girl who would be a goth if it wasn't so expensive).
