Belatedly...there are buttons on some japanese toilets that play music or sounds and so on to cover up the noises so you don't have to constantly flush them. But with heated and vibrating toilet seats...and scented toilets and so much more, I really did like the Japanese toilets better than the US toilets...

I might be bias however because I used to live there :( Now you have me remembering the good old days.
