A slightly Therapy LJ post because I want to talk about Jovi somewhere people can read, mostly so I don't spew it all over people in live conversation, but don't feel obliged. The short of it is that my dog was put down on the 14th (NZ), around 7 PM. It was the right thing to do, which doesn't make me feel much better except that I don't regret it

Gawd. I am crying my eyes out right now because I feel so sad for you. Jovi was a gorgeous boy, and I know he was very loving, and was loved. It's never easy to lose a pet, because they are family, and best friends. I think losing a dog is especially tough.

There really are no right words for this. But I wanted you to know that I read it, and I think it was good. <3

Oh, honey. I am so, so sorry. This kind of thing is never easy. I cried like I was three again when my two-year-old fish died; I can't even imagine losing such a close, long-loved companion as your Jovi.

It's okay to spew it all over people. This kind of thing deserves some letting-out.

Much like Alee has said, there are not too many right words, apart from that I understand your pain from a similar standpoint, and that I am truly sorry for your loss.

He was a gorgeous little guy. He was lucky to have you, and you were lucky to have him. You'll always know that, and have the memories of him, and perhaps these are the most important.
