The sacred institution

I feel like I should comment-

I'm proud of my city today. We may not be the first city to issue marraige licenses to queer couples, but we're certainly way ahead of the curve. Yay Portland. We're number 2!

Happy wedding day to the hundreds of couples gettin' married today in Portland.

We're number 3.

and a city actually can't grant marriage licenses it's a county thing. SF just happens to take up an entire county.

Some BF place in NY beat Multnomah for #2

gotcha. and I know it's a county thing, i was just being more vernacular, less literal. I didn't know about buttfuck NY, but I guess that's understandable seeing as these things are no longer getting national press.

I didn't mean for that comment to sound as assy as it did.

Just a clarification.

Anywho...Viva Portland just the same.

be more proud of the fact we're the first city who's gay marriages will hold up to state constitutional laws and most likely can not be revoked, unlike california, who specifically has "marriage will only exist as a union between a man and a woman" on the law books. when the california and ny marriages are declaired void oregon's will hold up to legal scrutiny.
