Set at Taint last night. As I expected, the audience was less than desirable as a whole. Small crowd, which can be fine, except that they also were quiet and passive and acted bored. i've been wanting to get into shock drag (which to me means lots of bodily fluids and lots of mess) for awhile, but it's the most outside of my comfort zone, and so the few times i've had one in the works, it's always been low on the priority list and gotten cut last minute.
but certainly it would be great to have an element of messiness / trashiness in the shows; we haven't tapped that yet so much. i'd love to hear your ideas and talk about what you do; i'm really trying to expand contacts with other queer performers to put in shows and even potentially collaborate with... make our shows a little more varied, cabaret-style as opposed to straight-up drag shows.
i'd be excited to meet up some time over tea or something equally gay.

We'll be going there for the International Drag King extravaganza in October, so we'll get a chance to really check it out... although I've been there a bunch already.
I don't know. It makes me sad thinking about leaving Portland.
