Starting the year
It took me all of 29 hours this year - a new record. I woke up at 5:30 this morning with searing pain in my left eye. Having suffered both optic neuritis and corneal erosion in that eye, I knew I needed to get it looked at today. Since the Eye Center at the hospital where my opthamologist works was closed today, I went to the emergency room this morning, and after an examination there, they sent me to see the opthamologist on call.
It's a corneal erosion. It's been a couple of years since the last one, so I have no idea why it suddenly decided to happen again. The opthamologist wants me back on Wednesday to make sure that it's healing properly and to check the visual fields, just to make sure that the loss of vision is due to the damage to the cornea and not to a recurrence of the optic neuritis.
I didn't even make it two full days into the New Year before ending up in emergency again. Go me. *rolleyes*
