Well, that was fun.

I haven't run in three weeks. What with the concussion and neck injury, I was feeling pretty slow and fuzzy, and took a little time off to let it settle down.

The fog lifted a bit this weekend, so tonight I decided to go out and get moving again with an hour long walk. I mean, it's cold and all, but I can take it.
Right?? ( Read more... )

I'm all for keeping active and all, but when the water in your water bottle freezes, its too damned cold to be outside!!!

Just my personal opinion... :-)

(with you on the waiting for spring thing...)

Yay, right about then I figured it was a bit too cold. But I had a half hour walk back to the car, so...I just kept walking. Exercise! Excercise is good for me! Yee-haw!

If I waited for spring, I'd be a couch potato blobby thing!

Seriously, I need to live in a Latin American country where it's warm all year.

water in my water bottle froze.

Also, your icon made me laugh :)

Definitely not right. Especially the part where I was trying to suck water past the ice before it totally froze over. I felt like something out of an Arctic Expedition movie or something.

Ouch. Global warming, yeah.

Love your icon!

Only we're still waiting for the warming part. :)

(And yes, I know it's all about severe weather, not just warmth, but still - a little more warmth in this part of the country would be welcomed!)

I like the icon too, which is why I gacked it from the talented person who can actually make cool moving icons like that. I need to retire to have time to learn how to do that.

Your icon is mesmerizing. I'm zoning out anyway, but at least it's entertainment for what little brain is still functioning...

Do you have a local Y or a county ed building or a system where you can jog around the school gym on days like that? My auntie in her eighties in a small town in Minnesota had some winter exercise place where they could walk to keep in shape - the high school on off hours, maybe. We used to do the county ed building but finally signed up with the Y (closer and it has a pool, but lots more expensive).

I do have a gym membership, but they limit time on the treadmills to 20 minutes, and that's just not enough. There's also an indoor track half way across town, but I didn't feel like adding driving time on top of it.

After months of being forced inside due to the weather, I'm really craving walking / running outside too. It feels so much better, and there's no person on the next treadmill checking you out, and no one waiting impatiently for your last minutes to finish so they can get on. I can't wait until it's warm enough to be outside all the time.

Oh, that's cute. I misspelled my own name. *sigh*

Anyhow... yeah, being inside is totally not the same as being outside. OTOH, if you keep in shape inside when it's really nasty, you can do more once you're outside. Don't have to get back in shape and all - and can breathe more of that fresh air, to boot. ;)

I have been hitting the gym all through the coldest part of the winter, but I was craving the outside and thought that maybe, just maybe, it was warm enough. I was wrong.

Hee, and I notice you didn't sign your second comment. Gunshy? *wink*
