car maintenance

I was driving on borrowed time in getting my brakes done on my car. Thankfully my mother came into a surprise shitload of money. Well, it's a shitload to us, but it's a portion of her pension that she got earlier this week. It comes with the territory in being a car owner. It's five years old now so it's time to do major maintenance upkeep and repairs. I'm just grateful that my mother is able to financially assist me at this time. Whew!

Oh, do I know the feeling! Car = Lifeline!

I took my car in for a routine oil change. When I got to the check-stand; the lady said that 'something' was a 'closed' system therefore no investigation. Huh? Wha? Before I could ask any questions - she had gone on to ring-up the next customer. All of the mechanics were in the bowels of the greasy shop and I couldn't get to them either. My transmission is wonky now and one of my dash-lights is blinking. All that tells me is - is that it's going to cost mucho-$$$$. I need a new car...
