Outside Soccer Hooligans, Friday Late Afternoon

While Hanna was here in Fandom, life had gone on in Rosewood. For example, new clues continued to arise. The girls learned new information that brought them just a few steps closer.

In this case, Caleb and Toby found out it was Alison's old friend CeCe Drake who made the flight plan the night of the cabin fire. This was the friend who apparently taught Alison all of her manipulative ways. Caleb had been staking out her Philly P.O. Box through the use of his fancy computer hacking skills. He somehow found out her last known address, so Aria was tasked with checking it out. She was in Philly that day anyway because her new boyfriend had some kind of martial arts competition there.

Aria found CeCe's former roommate, who had also been looking for her. Apparently, CeCe left before paying her half of the rent. This roommate also informed Aria that CeCe hated her and all her friends, especially Alison. It all had to do with a frat party they sneaked into many years ago. Hanna remembered it. A girl had fallen down the steps and gotten seriously hurt. CeCe had been blamed apparently, and she always held a grudge. It seems she thought Alison had done it.

So did this mean CeCe was Red Coat? Was she wearing an Ali mask and pretending to be her? Was this all about revenge this whole time? Hanna hadn't actually met CeCe, so it was weird this person hated her so much. Enough to set her mother up for murder just to take her away? As far as Hanna was concerned, CeCe Drake was the number one suspect. Unfortunately, she was nowhere to be found.

Even worse, had she tried to kill Jenna last week? She somehow had fallen into a lake, nearly drowning. Jenna's sight was disappearing again. Someone had to have lured her out there, hit her head, and tried to silence her. Was it CeCe who had done it? What information didn't she want out there? What was so dire that she was willing to kill over it?

Hanna felt safe here, at least. She knew she'd have to return home to deal with it, though. Right now, though, she was arguing with Caleb on the phone. He wanted her and her friends to tell their parents and go to the police.

"No, I'm not telling them," Hanna said, trying to be as quiet as possible. "The police have screwed us over too many times. I don't trust them."

"What about these new guys?" Caleb calmly replied. "They seem to want to get to the truth."

"By arresting my mom," Hanna pointed out. "Knowing them, they'd probably plant another shovel in my dorm room."

"I think it'd be different this time," Caleb said. "I just...I hate that I can't do anything. This isn't an enemy I can fight. If some punk on the street was hurting you, I'd just punch them, take them out. But 'A'? I can't punch them. They are everywhere and nowhere. I'm afraid I won't be able to protect you."

Hanna softened. "But you do. I feel safe when I'm with you. I mean it."

"Just think about it?"

"Maybe," Hanna replied. "Just let us look into some more leads, okay? We have to find CeCe. If she isn't directly involved, she at least has the answers. She's at the center of everything."

"All we can do for now is keep looking," Caleb said tiredly. "I'll keep tabs on this."

"Thank you," Hanna said sincerely. "Be careful, okay?"

"I should be saying that to you," Caleb chuckled slightly. It was true. Hanna always got into crazy situations. "I love you, Hanna."

Hanna smiled. "I love you, too."

They argued a lot about this issue, but it always felt good to make up at the end of it. Everytime. This was an exhaustive issue, too. At the end of it all, though, they needed each other. 'A' tried to get in the way of that many times, but they never let her.

After the phone call, Hanna texted Emily to see how she was doing. She was currently living in a crappy motel due to 'A', the most likely culprit, sending a car crashing right into her house. Seriously. Emily responded quickly, letting her know Alison's mother invited her to stay with her for awhile. In Ali's room. Emily wasn't sure what to do. Hanna told her she might find more clues if she does.

Still, she shuddered. She wasn't sure she'd want to stay in Ali's old room, a room that was like a creepy shrine to her.

Hanna sighed and sat down for a few minutes on the ground. She was pretty sure sitting in the castle right now was not going to help the tension headache that was forming.
