[OOC Notice, Headcanon Updates and Age screwing]
Sorry, I figured because this is a headcanon update that I wouldn't need to fill out a canon update, since technically his canon information remains exactly the same. The biggest change here is age screwing around. His age right now will stay the same but what took place when will change. More shall be explained under the cut.

Well, my dear friends, I shall answer all of your questions (and more?) one at a time.
What is this headcanon update?
Well, it's no secret. Going over headcanon stuff I realized 90% of it was crap and thankfully since I pretty much never allude to it, it's easily retcon-able. Also in retrospect the username I picked is very "LOLWTF?" but I don't have the money to change it right now and don't feel like giving up this account just for a user name that makes sense. In any case really, most of the headcanon I'm changing just pertains to his back story and that can be answered by the next couple questions. In short- don't read my app because it's awful and has become obsolete.
What do you mean by age screwing around?
Well, Silver is 12, almost 13. Talking with Snap last night Snap figured that he and Lyra started their little pokemon journey at 10 because it would have taken them awhile to travel all around Jhoto, beat up Team Rocket, all that good stuff. But since the game takes place 3 years after the rockets disband that would mean Giovanni left him at the ripe old age of 7 (going on 8). Well, that's kind of an issue because in the past it's already been mentioned a couple times that he's been gone 3 years instead of 5. So that's where the retcon comes in. Every time it's mentioned or implied it's been 3 years, substitute in 5. Basically. This was probably heavily implied in canon anyways since for some reason up until gen 5 all protagonists and their rivals were 10 but I originally age bumped him because that would have made Giovanni a superdick and Silver a bizarrely articulate and strong 7 year old. Well, since I don't feel like age bumping him to 14, retcon it is.
What parts of his story are you going to change?
Going over his app again. I realized my made up back story involved some weird moving around and having a sister and other dramu. Well, it sounded good at the time since I had no canon back story to begin with, but after awhile it started to bother me. I'm not a fan of made up back story like that and never really was. So. That's all being tossed out the window. His backstory now is sufficiently more realistic-but-boring living with his mom until he was 10 and then heading off to Johto. During those oh-so-exciting 3 years the safari zone shut down, Cinnibar Island blew up, etc. Really Kanto became a borefest. Also, as it turns out all the trainers there are super strong so good luck trying to level up you level 5 charmander when all of the other trainers are a good 30-40+ levels higher then you.
So after hearing about ~Professor Elm's Famous Pokemon Lab~ which I can only assume was famous for doing absolutely nothing but having the coolest starting pokemon, he started trekking his way to Johto. Who knows, maybe he'd find his father since that's where he was heading off to when he decided to run off.
Well it was the day of getting his starter and so rather then just asking for a pokemon like any normal kid who wasn't raised by evil people, he decided to hang out by the window like a creeper while some derpy girl tried to talk to him. She ended up picking snapy bitey gator. When the Proffesor left probably on lunch break he decided to sneak in through the window. But oh snap his aide was still there and saw him. Well, time to grab that chikorita he always wanted. I mean c'mon, it has a cool leaf on it's head and clearly those buds around it's neck turn into spikes or something... nothing girly like flowers or anything.
And well, if you've played HeartGold or SoulSilver, you know the rest of the story at this point. We leave off after being defeated at victory road. What's that? A fighting school? Clearly this will be a more effective and easier way of getting stronger then being nice to your pokemon. He probably tried being nice for a few seconds before giving up since it was so unnatural to him.
Aside from that the only thing I was really thinking of adding to his journey where the kimono girls testing him like they did Lyra. After all, he was inexplicably summoned by them to battle to see if he was the ~chosen one~ to catch/battle ho-oh or lugia. Knowing him he was probably a dick and didn't help them at ever opportunity until maybe the end while his character was developing (but that might of worked out had the legendary pokemon been interested in jerkasses.)
And really the only thing I'm adding to his headcanon are little stories here and there about when he was a cute little kid who had yet to turn into a little mean-but-sad kid.
