It's a peaceful evening and the beach is oddly deserted for this time of day. She contemplates pulling her coverup back on, but wants to soak up the last remaining warmth. He finds her down at the beach, his shirt mis-buttoned, his hair pushed back from his face. He walks up to her slowly, bare heels digging into the damp sand. And, yeah, he takes a moment to take in the swimsuit.

"Hey, Kate," he says.

"Hey," Kate murmurs back, a little embarrassed as Baze was kind of what she was trying to escape. "You're looking very masculine. How's the building going?"

They've been friendly with each other, but it's awkward, at least on Kate's part.

"It's not really building yet," he says, standing with his hands on his hips and squinting down at her. "But it's something, you know? It's important."

"So, she's agreed to move in and all that then?" Kate asks, hoping at least he's asked her, although she's quickly learned not to assume anything with him.
