Interesting to see that everyone has good cameras and tripods with them - whenever I have checked out a space, I just bring my Canon S500 along to travel light.

I use it mostly for point and shoot for work, so I consider it to be more of a candids camera that is limited for distance shots, but can get the occasional nice image. Seeing the glass lenses and tripods explains why the photos that you and others bring back from the expeditions convey the atmosphere of the space so well.
