I'm not heading to New Orleans if that's what you're asking. Although I have plans to be in Baton Rouge in about 3 weeks.

If you've got any suggestions I'm compiling my LA urbex list now.

well if you have the opportunity to get to new orleans, you should check out charity hospital. it's in downtown and has been abandoned since the hurricane. it's a wonderfully creepy building that is supposed to be destroyed but who knows when. i've not explored it as i've been, out of commission, let's say, for a bit.
if you want to know more about it, let me know.

as far as baton rouge, i've got no clue about that town.

Don't know what the security would be down there, but suspect it would be both dark and dank exploring, as that place was aged even when it was in use.

Nice set. 3/4 of the way to the top and then you thought about living? You were almost up there. LOL I do not think I would have gone up at all.

I reached a section of ladder that was not secured to the wall of the shaft. So the ladder started flexing and creaking, and rust chunks started flaking off.

Not to mention I had to text someone in Houston and tell them I was "In a Rice Dryer in Katy, TX" in case I disappeared. Nobody else knew where I was.

Desretion is the better part of valor, as the danger of hornets nests has been getting more recognition as a serious risk of injury or death.

Having known a friend who almost crashed her car when a Buck Moth catepillar fell into her lap when her sun roof was open, insects give no quarter when you are operating machinary or having your hands full of ladder rungs.

So you know what I'm talking about. It's not getting stung by wasps that's the problem.

It's the sudden barbing pain that causes you to hurl yourself off the ladder.

Incredible pics, just amazing!

Have you ever been caught doing this? I've read back pretty far through your entries but it doesn't seem like it. I wonder if you'd just get a slap on the wrist?
