This is a question I've been wondering about with regards to FFVII. Where do all those monsters come from?

I took Sephiroth's line to mean that the Mako could react with humans as well as animals, meaning there was just random shit all over the place, so yeah, lots of Mako.

True... but Mako reactors also cause pollution which change existing humans/animals -- but what about natural mako fountains and other monsters before 'modern day' technology ... but it leaves to wonder on why there are still monsters in so obscure locations of the planet where there is no sign of mako reactors.

Just a thought (and I forgot about that line too... my bad)
