My eyes!! (claws at eyes in an overexaggerated way)

So last night after I got home from the party, I fell asleep on the couch watching SNL. I woke up the next morning, and my eyes were irritated, because I had left my contacts in. I go into the bathroom look in the mirror, and my eyes are seriously screwed up. I had this happen the last time I wore them, and purposely didn't wear them for a week, ( Read more... )

If your glasses are three years old you should be able to get new glasses now. Does getting contacts count against getting glasses?

I got my contacts in mid to late 2007 I think. That's effectively like getting glasses. I double checked my vision service plan. I am currently covered for another eye exam but that's it. So I am going to have to just eat the cost of new lenses to put in my frames (not getting rid of my frames cause I love them) but the issue would be the literal transfer of the lenses out of my frames for the new ones, I don't know how easy that is, or because of the way these frames were made, if it's something they have to send away for, in which case I am truly screwed because I have nothing to see with then, and I would literally be blind until I got them back.

My eyes really are bugging me right now. Like they are red beyond belief, and just really irritated. I've put drops in them, but that isn't helping much. I feel like i can't keep them open for very long.

Are you sure you don't have an injury? Even if your eyes are irritated, you should be able to keep them open. It may be worth getting checked sooner rather than later. One should not fuck with one's eye health.

Also, you may be out of luck on the frames. I found out last time I got new glasses that frames actually have an incredibly short manufacturing life, and if yours are more than a year old, at most, they are probably not made anymore. Consequently, neither are the lenses.
