Whisper in the Wind
by Mariposa Torres

"So how and what did you do?" Rose asked as he set the TARDIS in motion.

"Do what?" He asked innocently.

"I'm not sure how, but you did something to Harriet Jones."

He smiled at her acumen. "Just a whisper in the ear of her right hand man. That's all, just six words."

"That's all it took? Just a whisper?"

"Sometimes a whisper is better than a shout. A softly spoken word or words can do more damage." He had been moving around the console but now paused by her side, leaned over and whispered in her ear, "Wouldn't you say so, Rose?"

She shivered as his breath moved her hair against the side of her face. She tried to respond, but found herself speechless.

The Doctor continued, "Conspirators in back rooms whisper, lovers in dark restaurants whisper, friends whisper secrets."

Rose was flustered and found her knees rather weak, but managed to reply as he was moving back to the console, "But some friends don't even need whispers."

The Doctor smiled, "So true, Rose."
