Oh, god...

This hit me like a bolt from the blue:

Suddenly the youngsters listen carefully when I recall the story of the Unknown Traveller, guided by destiny to help rebuild the Earth. Let them know that some believe he is a myth, others claim he was a real person called Jack Harkness.

And then this:
The two stay where they are, the girl obviously crying now when she spots the plate on the base of the stone figure, giving name, birth and assumed death date of the Captain just one year after the Invasion.

This was just beautiful, and so heartwrenching:

The man keeps her close, as if to protect her from reality. His eyes also seem kind of watery and I can hear him whisper “I can’t risk undoing what he did for Earth. When we first met him in 1941 I knew I’d seen his face before... here.”

Poor Rose! Poor Doctor! And you left them mourning... and then hit us with this:

"Because it’s just that, a statue. Harkness disappeared around 1 year after Invasion Day, no one knows what happened. Some say he died, others claim that he’ll ( ... )

I love you :) *hugs*

Didn't plan a sequel though, this is just some minor attempt at understanding why the Doctor didn't pull the TARDIS equivalent of a handbrake, made a 180° spin and flew back to search for Jack. *g*

Last part of that Jack fic is out for betaing, no worries. I should be the only one having those... ;)

Yes, I get that and it makes perfect sense - very nicely done, too. :) But of course Jack is going to be looking for them, and there's no reason why he won't find them or they stumble across him... right? And since the final part of your other fic is out for BRing (Yay!), there's no reason at all why you can't get started on this sequel right now, is there? *grins*

There *is* this minor tiny Easter fic challenge I agreed to and that is currently melting my brain, has me screaming and drinking beer currently...

AND I'm outta plot bunnies ;)

But if you want to write something please do so, you're so full of wonderful creativity, I always ask myself how you can write so much good stuff. It's amazing :)

This is really, really lovely. I like the way you've set it up; it provides the backstory, setting, and mood so simply but so well. Very nice job.

This is really beautiful, heartbreaking yet hopeful…I wish it was canon!

I too would love to read a sequel. ;)

*IF* something remotely resembling a sequel plot bunny should eat me I'll post it here, I promise. Don't expect it soon though, there are lots of LJ-skeletons in my basement waiting for me to continue fic I wrote ;)
