So Fanny finally had her surgery yesterday and is obviously in quite a bit of pain....when they went in to remove her thyroid glands they discovered quite a bit of scar tissue around them and according to the doctor this is going to maker her recovery to be much more painful than others who have had similar surgeries.....

She is home and resting now ( Read more... )

Please give Fanny our well wishes for a speedy recovery. Having surgery is no fun, but at least she can have you dress in a naughty nurse costume ;)

Just kidding.

Hope she's feeling better soon, and don't worry, you'll be a good nurse.

Our love to you both. I'm sorry to hear that the meds didn't help & I too hope that Fanny gets some relief from this. Think positive! I'm off on medical leave myself but for a different reason SO...I have plenty of time. If you need an extra pair of hands... or Fanny needs some cheering up by seeing someone other than your goofy face (j/k) I'd be glad to come out & help in any way that I can. I can even bring a stack of movies or books or foot rubs!

And don't beat your self up about being clumsy, you are human. Your heart is in the right place & that is what counts.

Thank you newbie_604 December 4 2008, 03:20:54 UTC
Appreciate the well wishes, and have passed them on to my love.

Thought that you had perhaps dropped off the face of the earth as hadn't heard anything about or from you since before your wedding.....

Hope that all is well with you and your wife.

Am spending more time on Facebook these days then on LJ...if you are interested.

Update.... newbie_604 December 4 2008, 03:27:17 UTC
Just an update....she is feeling better as of late.
She is still obviously sore but not nearly as bad as she was earlier on.

She is much more mobile as well, she is using a can for support (more an aid for added balance then anything) and she is still quite tired all the time but that is a given. Her head gets quite heavy and therefore she will simply sit at the table and either read or eat (whilst holding her head up with her other hand) if she isn't laying in bed.

But she is doing much better and I have passed along the respective well wishes and again thanks to all for your concern.
