As the death toll of American forces in Iraq reached 2,000 it pains me to know that 1 in 4 of the casualties are National Guard or Reserve. Ya know, the all out soldiers/marines/sailors/etc. who sign up for active duty know exactly what they are getting into. Though it isn't a choice I would make, it is their choice that they have made. I just went into the local Middle Eastern owned/operated convenience store, Safari Food Store near my place to get some cigarettes, milk, bread, and soda. I found everything OK except for the milk. My neighbor upstairs, Sal, is moving to Miami in a few weeks. He's the only neighbor I really spend time with. We also do cat care for each other whenever one of us is out of town. So, I'm happy for him that he found a place that he likes...but I'm bummed that he'll be leaving. Maybe the next tenant will be cool...hopefully.

Well, my birthday is coming up. Jim's taking me away for the weekend. I don't know where or what we'll be doing. I have no doubt that whatever he has planned will be a lot of fun ( Read more... )

This targus notebook chill hub is a very sweet notebook accessory. My machine runs REALLY hot, which is not good. I saw this chill mat at Best Buy and figured it was worth a try.
