I live in rural Oregon. The wind farms in certain areas here are devastating the ungulate population by two means. One, turbines emit a tone of low frequency which drives the animals away. No, I'm not talking about killing birds. Maybe that's a problem. I'm not familiar with birds.

Wind turbines are inefficient and they disturb ungulate populations. Deer ad elk are members of the ungulate population. Wind turbines emit a low-frequency tone that disturbs animals. Wind turbines also invite weed populations because the construction of wind farms cause ecological disturbances. An ecological disturbance is a natural process. However, disturbance enables weed seeds to break out of dormancy. Weeds come in and set up camp and destroy the land, and most of the land serves as grazing habitat for foraging animals, like deer and elk.
