Ah, nastolgia...

It sounds kind of sad, but I kind of want to play an online RPG again...

Maple Story is way too cartoony and shallow in game design for me to be immersed in it. World of Warcraft was good, but it didn't hit the mark like Everquest once did. Everquest was good, because the graphic style and the way the game was presented was able to capture it's own atmosphere and really do something special with it. But now, you don't see a lot of people in the amazingly designed Old-World. You only see them playing in the Sony-designed New World, which isn't as "magical", if you will. And Everquest 2 was a flat-out monumental blunder.

It sound's kind of sad, doesn't it? To want to be looking for something to be immersed in...But I suppose that being immersed in an online world was how I grew up throughout highschool. I was never into hanging out with friends, drinking and smoking, causing trouble and staying up all night doing who-knows-what. I grew up as a Ranger, or Wizard, slaying hordes of orcs and dragons and making new Elven/Vah Shir friends and Iksar/Dark Elf enemies, and admiring people who's names grew infamous throughout the entire game-world of thousands of people because of their exploits.

Instead of pining for an expensive bike or car, or sound system or what-have-you, I was aching to get my pixeled hands on a Centi Longsword and would save up every silver and gold I got from Kobolds in Stonebrunt to buy one. I fell in love for the first time in this world, had my heart broken for the first time.
I think I loved playing so much, because it felt like I made a big difference. In the real world, everyone looked past me and down on me throughout highschool. In the game, I would help my lower level friends level, or complete quests, or gather rare items for tradeskills. It was just a much more inviting, friendly place to be than the real world.

I guess everyone would look at me and consider me some piece of sad garbage for allowing myself to be so immersed in something so seemingly silly. But the only thing that comes to mind when thinking about that is "To each his own".

Also Im stoked for Jump Superstars, which is preordered and will be on its way from Japan.

Also Gabi made me a website to host my comics. It's called Lock-On and Fissure.com. Yes, the name is awesome. Yes, it's Pokemon. And finally, yes, I am a loser.
