Ok, I wasted Thursday night recouperating. But going to sleep early let me wake up before my alarm and find that it simply can't compete with the traffic and honking that I'd been tuning out. So, it's wakeup calls for me

Huh! I live across the road from what would have overtaken that as the largest mosque if Saddam hadn't found more pressing killing to do with his money, but I hadn't known that it was the King he was wanting to depose as biggest mosque builder. That would make sense, since Saddam really didn't like him. OTOH, Wiki says that HII is the 5th largest in the world, largest in Morocco. If there is a metric that brings it out on top, I'd be interested in finding out about it, as I'm fond of bigging up Morocco's government and such.

How about the largest I've seen? Could it be largest in Africa too?

Both of those seem indisputable. The second largest in Africa is apparently much smaller and in Algeria (I'm really surprised by the lack of absurdly grandiose Egyptian mosques
