Hey!
So as the first album of the new decade, I chose the only album that seems appropriate. As always, if anyway of you would like to post anything, go right ahead.
From the band that had backlash followed by more backlash followed by more backlash, they bring forth an album that isn't as immediately catchy but more of a thinker, much like the minds behind the music. The Columbia alums return with more open-ended questions to their surroundings, being more inclined to stick to their ethics instead of conforming to the trends. While borrowing sounds from Animal Collective and continuing in vein of the reggae spirit of early Police, this album has a lot to take in, but engaging nonetheless.
My favorite song is Diplomat's Son. It's just one of those songs that you want to walk around with and keep in your pocket when you need a smile. It's without a doubt the best song I've heard from them since Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa.
Choice Tracks: Diplomat's Son, Cousins, White Sky
