Vertigo is Live
Big thanks to everyone who participated in our last round of testing on the Vertigo site scheme. We've just made Vertigo available for everyone to use. Vertigo is the "vertical" version of the default site scheme with all the navigation links going down the left side of the page (rather than Horizon’s "horizontal" drop-down menus across the top). If you'd like to try it out, click on the Viewing Options link at the bottom of the page.
In our next release, we're going to modify the Viewing Options page so that it only shows you the choices of Horizon, Vertigo or Lynx. Anyone using XColibur or Dystopia can continue to use them, but please note that we won't be adding new links to them in the future. We simply don't have enough engineering resources to maintain so many different viewing options. If you switch away from XColibur or Dystopia and want to switch back at a later date, make note of this URL: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?view=schemes. Or, keep an eye on lj_nifty , since we know of several people who have developed unofficial stylesheets to change Horizon/Vertigo's look.

Last night we posted twice to lj_biz to regarding illegal content on LiveJournal. Please take a moment to read burr86's post and then read barakb25's clarification of our policies.
New Paid Account Feature
Saddle up the drama llama*: Paid members can now turn on the notification to be alerted when someone removes you from their Friends list. Go to your Message Settings to set it up.

Remember, if you buy during the first 36 hours of the sale, we'll donate $25 of your purchase price among four organizations: RAINN, Witness, the EFF and Creative Commons. If you'd like to put your $25 toward just one organization, just follow the link in the confirmation email we'll send to you. You can read more about the organizations here.
The Permanent Account sale will end at 11:59 p.m. PST Thursday June 28th. We gave you more details about the sale in our last post, so be sure to read it if you have questions.
If you've got some Paid time or extra userpics left over, please note:
We've got you covered! New Permanent Account holders can transfer any leftover Paid time or userpic add-on time to any other LiveJournal account. Choose that LiveJournal account carefully, then visit the Permanent Account Holder Transfer Tool to share the wealth!
Permanent Account holders get the maximum number of userpics we offer: 138! How will they ever use those all up? Give them some ideas by commenting with your favorite userpic (that you're willing to share, of course).
