As the summer (in our hemisphere) draws to a close, many of you are busy getting ready for back to school or whatever the change of season brings. We've got some brand new v-gifts that we hope will make you smile. Thanks to everybody who's helped us with their time, ideas and feedback on LJ policy. Dear LJ,

In the TOS you promise not to harm us. And funny, you're now pushing a drink which has "extra caffeine" in it. Do you know how much caffeine harms the body? Check out the sections on overuse & caffeine intoxication. This is especially shocking given that most LJers are impressionable youths. Sorry about that attack you got from someone. I feel mildly responsible because my comment was picked up by stupid_free where, apparently, they have dubbed me to be officially stoopid for being concerned about Pepsi's human rights record and ingridents.

Oh that's OK. Wasn't so much an attack once the person and I started talking.

Mind you, I always thought 'stupid free' was pretty much the opposite of the actual content on that group!

I absolutely agree with your points.

Except that it seems to me that a high percentage of regular LJ users aren't actually impressionable youths at all, they are middle-aged ladies. We could well be the group who use our journals most - and advertising Pepsi Max to us is pretty pointless - we already have a life-long dedication to whatever is our carbonated drink of choice.

Although if 6A actually ever notice that the members of the demographic group 'updated during the last week' are quite frequently ladies of a certain age you might have to start complaining that they are forcing adverts for HRT onto our user info pages.....

three cups of coffee worth of caffeine a day is linked to lower rates of Alzheimer's in women. it's not all bad.
