When LiveJournal, Inc., was launched in December the new team made it very clear that LiveJournal was going to change. We also said that we would respect the values and legacy of LiveJournal. Okay, LJ, so you removed the filter we're still owed an explanation, an apology and the previously mentioned good will gesture towards the communities/interests/individuals you marginalized and demonized.

What happened?
Why did it happen?
Will it happen again?
Why should I believe you?

FWIW: I just read the filter code, and it appears to have been trying to omit user names from the list. Sex was indeed a journal name, though admittedly a suspended one. Porn is an active account. http://porn.livejournal.com/

But it would make more sense if "guys" hadn't been restored to the interest list yesterday and slash removed around the same time. This creates an appearance of fine-tuning.

Also, many of the interests that weren't filtered from the list are also names of journals, so that sort of wipes out that excuse for the bigotry, etc.

It is only in the planning stages (= why I am still on LJ), nameless, and will be private, for a bunch of us who are creating it together.

...Hm, no offense to you (seriously, none at all) but I think I'll delete my initial comment. I'm going to bed now, and don't want to wake up to loadsaquestions I don't have the tech-skills to answer. :-)
