Friends Page redesign project

We consulted with a cutting-edge market research firm and concluded that no one really wants to read more than 140 characters about what their friends are doing.

Says you. Personally, I dislike having to click a damn cut if I want to read something. If I have to wait for the site to reload up, it's not worth my effort.

Hey, I get that lj has done some really stupid things, but I don't think they'd ever do something like this. The key here is that they said, "140-characters". Just think about it. It's not words, it's characters. The second sentence you wrote there? That's 130 characters with spaces, 104 without. That means that if they had implimented it, then just about everything would be cut. I find the 140-character part of it very laughable cause they essentially said that cutting edge market shows that no one wants to read more than a sentence about their friends. I think that does make it clear that this entire thing is a joke.

My entire comment here? 681 characters with spaces.

*nods* Yep, that, and they specifically picked "140" as the cutoff number in reference to Twitter.

They have done this every year, if you don't like it then don't read it.

Oh wow, aren't you cute?

Again, funny jokes aren't funny when it's normal for a site to screw it's patrons over with real life changes like this.

Are people STILL bitter about old changes? God.

You seem to care enough to bring it up again over a simple joke.
