We're excited to see a new design on the top of LiveJournal before we celebrate Gay Pride weekend with a rainbow header! As we get ready to join the parade, Frank would like to take a moment to commemorate the one-year passing of the King of Pop. Tell him your favorite Michael Jackson song or video, and he'll give you a glittering hand.

Why inform your users when you don't give a crap about them anyway? The announcement was made here.

Exactly. The "advisory board" has been farce for a while now. The fact they actually went through so much trouble to keep them from doing their job is telling enough. They never listen to anything we say unless they end up getting burned by miscalculation or dire backfire. And obviously they like it that way and that is the way it will stay and/or only get worse from here.

Partially... but given it was a dismal failure (and largely because we the users voted in idiots based on popularity) I can't blame them for canning it nor making a big deal out of canning it. I mean, the only times we heard about the damn thing was during elections. Better for it to die in the obscurity it wallowed in for the majority of its existence.

I don't care that it's being retired. As you said, it was a dismal failure. I'm just annoyed that this is yet another thing they don't think they need to tell us about.
