The Facebook and Twitter connects are a huge breach of privacy.
A friend did some testing and it turns out that even if I disable the feature, any LJ friend who has not can still repost their comment to my locked entry to their Facebook and Twitter - and even if the public cannot see the entire thread or the original post, then it is still a link to my locked blog post, revealing my LJ presense to people I'd prefer know nothing about it - and often content of the original post can be derived from a comment.
Internet anonymity just went straight out the window.

I encourage anyone who is concerned about this and is paying for the service, or paying for userpics, etc, or even doing the sponsored ads aspect of it, to think twice about providing any more money to LJ until this has been fully addressed and resolved.
I've put no small amount of paid-account status and such into LJ over the years. I could continue to do so. However, I have no intention to put money into any company that does not test things that could be a privacy risk to assure this is not happening.
I will be encouraging my friendslist to reconsider their subscriptions/renewals/etc as well.
