Want to stop those horrible TwitFail repost icons appearing on your LJ when you post (unwanted advertising, which paid/permanent users should not see)?

I've just found a fix for that - the wonderful Adblock Plus Element Hiding Helper, also available for Chrome.

All I did was go to the 'post an entry' page, click on Adblock Plus, click on Select Element to Hide, and then move my mouse down so that it selected the TwitFail repost boxes. One click, and they're gone for ever. My posting page now looks nice and clean again, with no unwanted advertising.

But this does not stop people from crossposting from your journal, which is the main security concern.

I know that, and I wasn't addressing that issue. I was addressing the specific point that even if we do not want to crosspost our journal entries those boxes still show up when we write posts. This hides those boxes when we post. That's all. Of course there are still wider issues, as I've commented elsewhere on this post.

Be careful with the element "Repost".

I hid it and lost all the journal names on my friends page until I re-enabled it. YMMV with other styles.
