Oh! Another option for TxtLJ might be LJTalk? If there's a Jabber compatible client on the phone or something.

1) This isn't a fix for our concerns. 'Restricting' crossposting a group anyone can join for no cost isn't restricting it at all. We would like control of our own journals. I don't think that's too much to ask.
2) Is anything being done about staff members who abuse the users?
3) Are you ever going to consult properly with the users?
4) Why are staffers not answering these questions?

Before you screwed this up, if I got a comment notification and I wasn't logged in, I would have the option to log into LJ completely, and not just for the comment.

I've seen just a couple of reports saying that it's not working for people - if it's not working for you can you please open a Support Request? That way, we can aggregate browser information or other things and figure out why it's not working sometimes!

I'll make note of it next time it happens, especially the browser part. I use a different one depending on what computer I am on (firefox, IE, chrome) and even different operating systems.

[edit: by which I mean, although I didn't test it personally, I asked what happened to make sure it was clear before I posted this, and didn't post until I knew all the circumstances.]
