my first fanfic. inspired by a friend. hope everyone'd like it. ^^
“Okay minna san, let’s call it a day!” announced yamapi.
News members had just completed their first rehearsal for their upcoming News spring concert and everyone proceeded to packing up after the long day.
Well it’s now or never, tegoshi thought. Indeed, the fact that tegoshi respected yamashita-kun has been long exposed to everyone. Yet, tegoshi often thought to himself whether if it is only respect and admiration, whether if there is something more. After many news activities, he only felt the feeling coming stronger upon him. The more he thought about it, the more certain he was about it. But at that time, he was just too shy to tell.
“Ne yamashita-kun..i have something to speak to you about, could you stay back a bit afterwards?”
“iio.” Yamapi replied instantly.
From aside, koyama watched the whole scene unfold itself. Something inside him was like a monster screaming in the wildest manner. Koyama had always seen teshi as his little brother, a darling member all the while. However it was too after the long break, his feelings start to erupt.
He loved tegochan.
At least his heart tells him so. At first he thought it was just because he missed the younger member so much during the long break, shopping and hanging out with him like they used to. It wasn’t that they met up any lesser during the break, but it was just different from being able to work together again. Yet, he wasn’t able to feel the same towards everyone else.
Yes, he loved tegochan. But something acted as a barrier that he can never overcome.
------**flashback**------
1 week before the New Year concert at a sushi restaurant.
“Ne keiichan…what if I told ya I love you? How would you react?”
“Eh nan desu ka?” koyama was surprised that the teshi would ask him such a question.
“hmm…bezuni…” tegoshi said and sighed.
“to yamapi?” koyama deciding to question the younger one.
“huh?! Hontoni bezuni! Hahaha..” tegoshi tried to cover up, but the fact that he was already blushing madly told the truth.
Of course it was yamapi, who else could it be? Everyone knew very well, except perhaps these two(referring to yamapi and tegoshi).
Koyama felt jealous. He felt very jealous.
------**end of flashback** ------
“Teshi, let’s go home?”
“gomen..erm I have to speak to yamashita-kun about something. You go on first okay? I’ll go home later myself.”
“so ka? iio….jaa.”
“jaa ne keiichan!” tegoshi gave him the usual enthusiastic smile with a friendly wave.
Tegoshi and koyama always went home together. So what was so important today as to cause tegoshi to ask keiichan to leave first? Koyama felt uneasy.
Was he going to choose today to confess? Maybe it was just the dance step he was unsure of. Well, it has to be. Choosing not to think too much, he decided to leave.

Soon the rehearsal room had only yamapi and tegoshi left. Nishikido had gone home while massu and shige went across the street to try the new Italian restaurant.
“Well tegoshi, so what you have to speak to me about? Is it the dance step? Haha..yeah you have been the worst dancer in news last year, but I’ve got to admit but you did improve tremendously!” yamapi spoke on until he notice tegoshi wasn’t his usual chirpy self.
“tegoshi..doshdano?”
“ne tegoshi?”
Tegoshi finally lifted his head to face yamapi.
“yamashita kun…”
Yamapi suddenly felt two trembling arms encircle him.
“….daisuki!” tegoshi blurted out, almost choking on his words.
Yamapi was shocked.
He knew this little kouhei respected and admired him to bits since they were first in news. Nevertheless, he had not expected tegoshi to say that to him, something that was so straight forward. Tegoshi is a cheerful person, yet even members of news knew not everything about him. They did not know he would confess to yamashita kun.
“Erm well, yamashita kun don’t need to give me a reply now. 3 days time? For now…jaa ne!” tegoshi was blushing madly as he raced out of the building.
Before yamapi realized, tegoshi had already left. He was left alone, but he felt happy. He wasn’t sure why, but he was absolutely euphoric.
From not knowing tegoshi when news first started, to a close member now that news returned, his feeling towards tegoshi certainly had a 180degree change.
He was quite certain he felt that he liked tegoshi too, but he could not come clear with his feelings with much more things to worry about. There was once he wanted to tell tegoshi, to make tegoshi’s wishful thoughts a reality, but the abrupt announcement of news’ temporary disbandment had disrupted it.
Now that news is back on track, and tegoshi had confessed first. Things are going to be wonderful…as yamapi flicked the lights off and set home.

Back on the bus, koyama was deep in thoughts. The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he felt. Then, an idea suddenly came to him.
“Yes, yamapi!” causing the people on the bus to stare at him, even the man whose eyes are shut, opened it just to cast him a glance.
Koyama immediately got off the bus and flagged a taxi down the road.

Yamapi walked up the road to his house, smiling to himself like a madman. Just then, he spotted a familiar figure outside the gate. The shadows tells a tall, golden haired person, who noticing him started to run towards him.
It was koyama. What was he doing here so late?
“yo yamapi!”
“nande?!”
“ahahah..bezuni..just want to check out how are you.”
“eh hontoni?” yamapi totally not buying koyama’s words.
“well..that and also to ask if tegoshi had said something to you?” finally coming straight to the point.
Koyama and yamapi were pals. They attended the same university. Despite different year, they spent more time together than with rest of the news members.
“yeah..he said he loved me.” Being frank as yamapi always was.
“then wad did you say?!?!”
“wow, no need to get so worked. I haven’t given him a reply.”
Yamapi knew koyama liked tegoshi’s company but he did not know he actually had feelings for tegoshi.
“oh..”
“nande?”
“well…I know this is a big favour to ask. But can you reject him?”
“huh?! Why?” yamapi shocked at koyama actually saying such a thing.
“Because I love him.”
