I love this fic. It was wonderfully and poignantly written about a beautiful friendship. I love how you didn't make this completely AU, and now Wagahai's diary's make sense!
And omg, Wagahai is jealous of Nana! THATS ADORABLE!!
I just want to start off by saying that I really like this piece A LOT. It’s touching and sweet and lovely without the slightest OUNCE of sap which can be very, very hard to achieve. The whole thing was beautifully written and I might have to stalk you sometime if I’m not already. :D
He shivered, still damp from his rather eventful trip to his friend's pool, and released a raspy cough that had the adults pausing in their conversation to stare at him anxiously. He seems so small and vulnerable here and absolutely adorable. What lovely phrasing.
Even so, it took him a good hour of constant pestering before Mrs. Kato agreed to let him out of the house, though she made him promise not to go anywhere near any large bodies of water unless there was at least one able-bodied adult at hand, preferably who has undergone CPR and/or lifeguard training. Fine, I guess I won't either. At least not for this fic lol
This was lovely. I love how Wagahai was portrayed and because it plays so well into Shige's life now and the fact that his cat does not necessarily have a name of his own. (Or in this story's case, a name of HER own :] )
That story about Mr. Yamanaka was great and the support that Wagahai provided for Shige was absolutely endearing. Almost as endearing as young Shige crying because he found such comfort and near-grandfather-grandson admiration for the old man. It was so very sweet.
And the whole getting jealous of sausage-san Nana, that was so epically cute!!~ Wagahai was totally jealous, but trying very hard (and struggling) to keep her normal demeanor of "I could totally care less".
Her disdain towards Nana (by calling her sausage) was continuous too which was great :] It's like she accepted Nana, but not completely lol And the fact that Wagahai would visit Nyanta when he didn't like the sausage Nana was absolutely
