Things I'm thankful for

Holidays like Thanksgiving where the whole family gets together throws my upbringing in high relief, because while my friends are complaining about their great-aunts or their sister's annoying boyfriend, I'm thinking, I don't have that. The story about your parents relationship really gives insight as to why they want what they do for you in your adult life. And it is ever so romantic!!

I only have memories of my dad and how much he loved doing the big Thanksgiving dinner just for us. He doesn't do that anymore- being Jehovah's Witness, they don't do holidays. :( It makes me sad, but on the other hand, I'm not able to share in these things with them, so I don't have to feel bad about giving all my time/attention to Peter's family. LOL

Your parents' story really is romantic. A lot of my family lives in my town, but a third of them went to Boston for Thanksgiving (to see the other side of that branch of the family.)
