Season of discovery: I just found out that Stephenie Meyer (Twilight, New Moon) is an active-LDS BYU-graduate!

That does not endear me more to the story (no, really!), which I meant to read sooner or later (later, probably, since I thought there was no way I could lay my hands on those books round here). My faith in the series had started to falter

I just read these. I can't believe you didn't know they weren't people, that seems to be the first thing anyone said about the series around here.
And just so know, I don't think her being mormon had much part in the writing of the books, other than they monsters are oddly moral.
