Practicing my description writing

“The answers to all our questions lie before us; all we must do is open our eyes.”

In the heavy night set with a cast of clouds shadowing the stars and swallowing the moon a flicker of a silhouette drifted through the neatly set houses like an unsettling breeze. An eerie silence followed in the man’s wake; the usually vocal hounds kept their silent vigil, their fur bristling threateningly and the gleam of their fangs throwing vicious shadows on the ground, stalking the man’s shadowy heels.
The air shifted like the release of a breath and the man’s jade-green eyes flashed, casting an uninterested glance over his shoulder. Snarled whimpers were eaten up by the growling wind and the dog’s snapping shadows fell away with the reappearing face of the moon. The wind fell silent and the man took one last look at the nice, proper neighborhood before his mask slipped allowing the shadows to cut a vicious smile on his pretty lips and as the moon was once more consumed by the passing clouds so was the man passing away with the howling wind.
