{ today is a great day }

Jan 13, 2015 20:50

Today has been GREAT.
I more or less fixed my sleep schedule, and I found some cute games to play on my phone (and subsequently installed Bluetacks on my computer to play them when on here...).

But more importantly, a movie adaptation of Shige's book "Pink and Gray" is officially announced, starring Yuto! ピンクとグレーtrended on Twitter for a long time, too, it made me so happy. Waaaah! Congratultions, Shige-sensei!! I really hope NEWS gets to do the theme song, and that all the filming and production goes smoothly. I also hope Shige has a say in production. The director who directed Ai wo Sakebu is directing this movie, so I have high hopes for it! They said it would come out in 2016, but I can't wait already. I hope it's playing in theaters during a NEWS tour in 2016 or something, so I can go see it in theaters and be one of the box office numbers for it♡

And because of all of that, I went and ordered a copy of all of Shige's books, the two volumes of the "Pink and Gray" manga from Amazon JP... While I was there I also added Wink Up February issue, the NEWS piano score collection, as well as each of the NEWS solo Wink Up cover issues. It all came out to 14k yen thanks to FromJapan's sale and being able to buy second hand *o* I don't look forward to the shipping, though. Eek.

I tried out a Japanese restaurant for lunch - a place called Akaihi (Red Flame). I left too late and missed the lunch specials... I literally got there right when it ended (at 3pm... talk about late lunch lmao), so I paid $19 for a salmon bento box OTL; It came with some tempura (shrimp + veggies), a cheese puff, a tiny harumaki, and a california roll. I only ate the salmon, rice, and the tempura OTL I also got 2 pieces of salmon sushi because they were cheap during happy hour. I realized that I ordered all salmon after I tweeted about what I ordered. Am I becoming tennen????? Am I Koyama???!!

Ahh. My bill was $24 something and after tip it ended up being close to $29. I tipped about 18% this time. Speaking of tipping, I usually tip around 20%. I enjoy tipping big, because I work in the industry and I know what it's like to rely on these tips for a living. I also know the mentality of not expecting large tips when the customer is either 1) young, 2) dining alone, or 3) Asian, and I was all three. The waitress was clearly not expecting much of a tip, but I like exceeding those expectations. It might make her day, and might even change her mentality that young people, people dining alone, and Asian people don't tip well. Hopefully she'll pick up a different attitude when serving customers under those categories. In the end, it's win-win situation, in my opinion. I really don't mind giving a good tip - in fact, I prefer to give a good tip. I will make sure my friends leave decent tips when we're all eating out, especially if we're a large party.

Anyways, I got home, and I saw tweets about this month's Shonen Club Premium. It'll air on Jan 21, and the guest will be NEWS. NEWS and KAT-TUN will be talking, of course, and performing some hit songs as well as "SUMMARY", from their SUMMARY concert back in 2005. This also made me really happy and excited, and I honestly cannot wait. NEWS and KAT-TUN both started out with more members than they ended up with, but I think these experiences are so valuable and really do shape them into who they are today. Having these two groups talk and perform together will be heart warming and heart breaking at the same time. I can't wait to see it, I loved SUMMARY so much! It's been 10 years since these two groups really had any official interaction, so this will be really nice for all the fans.

I kind of wanted to talk about my history as a Johnny's fan, but I think that should wait for another entry, since it'll be pretty long-winded, haha♪

Wow, and there it is. My first real journal entry. Enjoy?
