So, my little brother Jamie was sorted into Gryffindor, as predicted by yours truly... and to the derision of certain persons. If Monique Travers makes one more snide comment, I'll... well, I don't know what I'll do, but it'll be something creative, at any rate. Cow. He might be an annoyingly bouncy little creature, but he's my annoyingly bouncy ( Read more... )

Did you expect anything better? It is Travers after all.

No, I didn't. That doesn't mean I have to like and/or put up with it, though.

Wouldn't that mean you're putting weight to her words, then? It's much simpler to laugh at her in her face and treat everything she says as a really pathetic attempt at a joke. It's probably more effective too, considering she deals in snide bitchiness.

Hasn't anyone taught you these things before? Not everyone needs to act like a rash Gryffindor in order to get their own back.

Point taken. However, it's not so much me that takes her seriously as those annoying little bints who follow her around like the goddess or something.

I'm sorry, but did I miss the memo that we were supposed to care about what Travers thinks?

Hex her and be done with it.

I care that she says mean things about my little brother.

And believe me, I'm tempted.

It's really nice of you to have such faith about the Quidditch team. Bitter much? It's not my fault that others managed to get onto the team years before, now is it?

Feel free to try out anyway. Please tell me you can play Beater so that I have better prospects than Croyle...

It is not the Quidditch team I have little faith in , more my chances of getting on it, given recent precedent. You can't deny that I'm a damn good flier.

Did it ever occur to you that you may have not gotten onto the team because you're a worse flyer than the rest, or that the positions you're trying out for are already occupied? People always want to look at their short-comings so allegorically. Gryffindor isn't so bad, if you can ignore all the loud-and-proud self-righteous prats about. Easier said than done, I know. My mother Sorted Ravenclaw but all my older brothers were Hufflepuffs, so she was right chuffed when I got placed in there. It doesn't mean I'll ever be interested in learning about how Cornish is a "dying" language, of course.

Perhaps you should consider whether it is appropriate for someone who a) doesn't play and b) has never seen me fly to judge my skills, especially given I fly at local league level and the others do not.

Oh, I have no anti-Gryffindor prejudice, don't get me wrong. I take issue with those who judge me purely because I'm a Slytherin, if that makes sense. Judge us for any personal faults we have, not the colour of the uniform we wear, I reckon. And that goes for anyone in this school.

I don't have house prejudices either. I discriminate based on personality, and it's not my fault that some other people can be tossers.

And "purely because I'm a Slytherin?" Did you mean to make that pun? If so, nice work.

Well put.

Um, I didn't, actually, being half blood but there you go.
