Physical characteristics: Katie is petite, pretty, blonde, blue-eyed, has a pert nose that turns up a tiny bit at the end and a killer left hook. She’s athletic but does not work out much besides practicing Quidditch and muggle football (she scoffs at the very IDEA of lifting weights or some such nonsense,) thus she manages to maintain a strong but still feminine physic. She’s JUST 5’5 but thinks she could reach 5’6 if she stands up straight (she’s wrong.) Yet she won’t wear heels higher than 1 1/2 inches.
Katie doesn’t consider herself pretty, but she also doesn’t consider herself to be completely unfortunate looking. She knows how to dress well, though she leans towards the more preppy and sporty types of fashions. However it is not unheard of for her to wear a skirt or dress if she’s in the mood (or if ANGELINA is in the mood and feeling pushy.)
Though she would never admit it she does enjoy dolling up for big parties like the Yule Ball (which might explain her poor taste in date to said event.)

Katharine Leela Bell was born in Tisbury, Wiltshire (population 2,000) on December 21st, 1978. Her father, George, is a member of the International Confederation of Wizards, Department of Magical Cooperation. He is the leader of a small army of large blond men who would risk life and limb for our small blonde heroine. Her mother, Eleanor Bell (née Mockridge,) owns a small Specialty Quill Shop when she isn’t busy ruling her family with an iron fist. Both are pureblood.
Katie has brothers. Older brothers. Four to be exact. The Bell boys {Thomas (28), William (27), Sam (25) and Joseph (18)} adore their sister to pieces and instilled in her many important life lessons about the members of their sex who are not related to her. For example: boys are messy, boys are grabby, boys should not look below your neck and this is how and where to punch them if they do. Most of their lessons were soundly ignored by their wise little sister (with the obvious exception of how to punch. A skill she is not adverse to using against the silly prats who taught her.)
Though they drive her crazy Katie really does love her brothers and is fairly protective of them when it comes to the women they date. She is closest with her youngest big brother, Joseph. A recent Hogwarts graduate, he spent the first five years of Katie’s Hogwarts education scaring of any boy who looked at her. He did not succeed in the case of Quentin Oakby. Katie had never been particularly fond of her nasty, blood-supremist house mate. However, when the Yule Ball came around-- and all her friends had dates-- she gave into the guilt the flowers and chocolates he presented her with created and agreed to accompany him. It turned out to be a poor choice. He groped her in a dark corner when she popped out to get some air. She punched him. Twice.
Her best friend is Alicia Spinnet. the two have known each other since they were small children because of a friendship between Alicia’s brother Callum and Katie’s brother Thomas. She’s also very close with Angelina Johnson, Fred Weasley and George Weasley. She adored her former captain Oliver Wood but--contrary to popular rumor-- they strictly appreciated each others skills on the PITCH, not, uh, elsewhere.
She is perfectly friendly to people from other houses. The exception being members of the Slytherin Quidditch team (especially the Head Git,) and Monique Travers. She is amiable unless crossed at which point she does enjoy a well placed hex. She has quite the temper but has managed to avoid getting many detentions thus far in her academic career. This may soon change as her hatred for Umbridge brings out her rebellious streak.
Katie is smart (especially smart-mouthed,) but not particularly motivated when it comes to her school work. She’s naturally gifted at Charms where she receives mostly “O’s”. Comparatively she earns “A’s” in Potions, DADA and Astronomy. If she applied herself to her work half as hard as she does to her Quidditch and football she could probably receive far more “E’s” and “O’s”.
