[Even seasoned pilots need practice- Amuro Ray is currently knee deep in the simulator, running various scenarios and training on multiple machines- Primarily Gundam units, but he's also tried his hand at simulated versions of a few other mechs ( Read more... )

...you know what, anything this tempting I probably shouldn't do, just on principle.

[Private thoughts]

Another Newtype prototype, though...I wonder if that's what I think it is.

[There's a knocking on the sim chamber. It...may come when Amuro's in the middle of a tricky dogfight where he needs to concentrate.]

[And there's the sound of a catastrophic explosion from inside the chamber- followed by a pause- And the door opens.

-Fortunately, from his expression it looks like the machine exploding wasn't him.]

...Char?

There's a reason I still go by Quattro when I'm not making speeches, Amuro.

That may well be, but you'll always be Char Aznable to me. We might be on the same side now, but some things don't change.

Tried the Gespenst out yet?

The Gespenst? It's a quality machine, no doubt about that... I'm not sure about it's response time... and It could probably use a little more speed, too- I wouldn't complain if I were assigned one, though.

From the data, I think I'd probably be the most comfortable with the R-type Mark-I version.

The original, huh? I hear the test pilot for that was something else.

So I guess that new thing you're practicing with must be pretty quick.

I've heard the same thing. I've always wondered how my original Gundam would do against the original Gespenst...

Unfortunately I can't say much about it- It's a top secret Anaheim project. I can say that it's probably a little less versatile than the ReGZ, but... It should be a lot more suited to my abilities.

I'm curious to see how your Newtype abilities and mine differ.

Entering: Gundam X Divider

**And the GX Divider appears at Amuro's unit's back. There's a calming sigh from Jamil's communicator**

I could use more newtype test data myself...

[As the GX appears in the sim, Amuro's 'mystery' unit modulates, and the original Gundam appears in it's place.]

Let's do it!

[The Gundam leaps into the air and fires several beam shots in the direction of the new arrival!]

((Damn html didn't work right :())

I'm probably the friendliest you're going to get!

**The GX dodges and returns fire with the beam machine gun. Were he younger, he might be pleased to be going against the original-type Gundam**

That unit's more or less the original Real-Type, isn't it? I'd be an idiot not to try to fight it!

*Megas, sadly, is not in the Simulator databanks. Coop's instead chosen a custom flame paint job Gundam Exia.

You'd think that perhaps, Coop has no experience with it's controls. You'd be right. But there is no video game, simulator, or otherwise, that Coop cannot master!*

Hey, Amuro! Let's see how well the original matches up to the newer models!
