I love the Laundry Files collection. I described them recently as "the existential horror and bleak dread of the coming invasion of infovores from eldritch dimensions is matched only by the existential horror and bleak dread of the British public service".
But I ashamed to admit I did not notice the lack of curries and associated whitewashing. :/ Thank you (genuinely) for yanking me out of my complacency there.
Have you read Kristin Cashore's trilogy? Graceling, Fire and Bitterblue. Good writing, fascinating world, good characters where social justice issues are (I thought) handled well. Scary as hell in places though, and the last book I'd have to call triggering in some ways.
