A new start

So, after several months of pondering and wondering and looking into different things, I began the path to my new career choice this week. I am going to school to become a licensed massage therapist. Today will be my third day and so far I am loving it. I've always been interested in the medical field and thought of doing something like being a ( Read more... )

Oooh massage therapy, a good friend of mine is a massage therapist and luckily she also helps at the theatre so if I have a stressful day she comes and gives me the best massages and the stress just gets rubbed away I know bad pun.

Enjoy your classes and become the best massage therapist you can be.

It's something I've considered off and on for several years. I am really so excited about it and even more so after my first week now. I even got to give my first massage today already!

YAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm so proud of you!

I was nervous returning to school as well but I loved the classes and the learning environment. I learned a lot and was able to share a lot with students younger than I am.

The only part I didn't enjoy was the administrative hassles. Like the time they put a block on my registration...because I hadn't registered...and so when I went to register online, like I was supposed to, I couldn't register...because I hadn't registered...

You should have seen me trying to get them to understand the stupidity of that logic in the admins office :)

Yeah, the paperwork has been a pain in the butt but I think that's all finally done. I always enjoyed school and I find that hasn't changed. It's such a diverse group, too. We have kids right out of high school, single moms looking for a better way to support their kids, a few that are just trying to figure out if this really is for them or not and some in their late 50's that are starting over after retiring or finishing raising the kids. I have tried to be sure I partner up with a different person each class so that I can get to know as many as possible. I'm lovin' it!
