Mmmmmmm...tastes like home...well, sorta

One thing we miss sooooo much living out here in the desert is our cajun seafood from home. So this weekend I finally made us some seafood gumbo using what I could find in the stores here. I had to use frozen shrimp and crawfish and couldn't find any blue crab at all, so I used some of that fake crab meat and also a little bit of snow crab legs

We've thought about trying them but haven't yet. It's just hard to find someone around here that knows what real Cajun spice and/or cooking is.

I don't know firsthand how it is actually as shrimp and a bunch of other seafood kills me. throat closes up n stuff; it's a bad scene.

Oh, I feel ya. I have the same problem with peaches. What sucks is I didn't develop the allergy until my mid-20s and peaches are my favorite fruit...especially now that I can't have them! lol

I've been catching up on your journal and all I can say is how awesome I think you are for turning things around and creating such a wonderful new beginning. Cajun seafood massages... I am jealous ;) And very happy for you.
