About forty miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, there's a piece of land that's hard to tell if it's part of this earth or if it's a Martian landscape. The rocks are sandstone, dyed bright red with iron, twisted over the eons by rains and erosion ( Read more... )

Derek pinpoints in with the others, standing, one hand hovering near his gun in its side holster. The other is near one of Jun's--perhaps in the process of letting go or seeking out. Hard to tell since he drops it. The sudden heat tells him he's in familiar territory, and he takes in a deep breath of the baked air.

Desert. Almost like home.

He peers around, crouching a little as he tries to ascertain if there are...well...zombies around.

Jun squares her shoulders and inhales that dry hair. Her fingers brush towards Derek's and she immediately smiles. It's gorgeous here. A silver yo-yo has found its way into her hand. She flings it up and down, with minute and exact shifts of her hand and lower arm. It radiates in a long arc, never rising higher than her hip.

She has a good feeling about this place.

"Jun, D-man, hey," Spider-Man says in an unsually (for him) quiet voice, sidling over. Unlike Jun, he's completely ill at ease, balanced on the balls of his toes and trying to look everywhere at once. "Interesting place."

Derek's little inspection turns to include Spidey. The vampire hunter gives Spidey a genuine if slight smile.

"Hey. Ready to go?"

Eiko shows up in the egress, having brought stuff with her, along with a set of tubes with pistol-grips and shoulderpads. She's got her goggles on, as well, glowing softly as she looks from side to side.

Her throat is immediately dry. She's used to foggy London town. This is way too arid for her liking.

But she ignores her dry throat and the stunning landscape...to focus her attention entirely on Ramon. The others are focused on defense and everything. She knows what her job is. It's to keep Ramon balanced, focused, and unaware of what's really happening here.

His hand was holding her tightly when they PINpointed out. Once they came to their destination here in this desolate, arid place, his grip only became tighter and what little color he has to his face drains.

This was it. This was finally it. He couldn't feel them at all, thanks to his collar, but he was in a world with people like him again. He was standing in the same world that held his former master.

He was going to go confront him.

It could easily be blamed on the vertigo and displaced balance from PINpoint teleportation, but it's probably not entirely the reason why he grows weak in the knees and stumbles a little, still clutching Hips' hand.

She holds tightly onto that hand, supports him, keeps him from stumbling too much.

"Gotcha, mi amor. It's okay."

His kneejerk reaction is to tell her, no, it's not. But he bites that comment back and just leans into her, letting her support his weight for now until he gets his balance back.

"Wh-When do we-...?" He fingers a bit at his cravat, feeling the contours of the collar underneath it.

Ada has to blink from the sheer intensity of light a place like this has. It's not her favorite sort of place to be working in, but it isn't the worst either. She's dressed for the occasion, pants and a simple red shirt instead of her usual over the top garments. She was here on business, after all.

She stands a few feet away from the others, listening to them while getting a look around the area. She's shouldering a small bag, with her toys stowed inside. The only thing at hand is her knife, and she keeps her free hand at her side in case she needs it.

Eiko takes a moment to regard the woman in red. She's heard rumors about her - from Leon and from Claire and from others - but what she really knows is that this woman is apparently just as happy to blow the hell out of Saddler as the rest of them are. That means that she's going to get one of the missiles when it comes.

She walks over, bringing a box with her. "Hi. I'm Eiko Takashima." She opens the box, showing a pistol in a holster and a set of black boxes. "This is an anti-plaga laser pistol. Everyone who wants one gets one for this."

It's only fair.

Ada's gaze meets Eiko's when she hears the woman approaching. She doesn't really know anyone here, save for one, but it doesn't stop her from adopting a small smirk and nodding at the introduction.

"Pleasure, Ms. Takashima. Ada Wong." Despite her being accustomed to seeing random weaponry, she can't help but quirk an eyebrow up at the box and its contents. These people were prepared. Ada decides it's quite alright to show that she is impressed. Her hand falls from the strap of her bag. "Handy little things...Thanks."

Never say no to a chance for more weapons.

"It's a laser, so no recoil," she says, taking hers out of the holster. "Each battery lasts fify shots, light in the back here flashes when it drops under ten." She taps where the light would be. "Also five spare batteries." She indicates the cartridges in the box. "Also have some IR goggles if you need."

Heat. Darnit. First thing Custo does after landing is activate his cooling systems.

He waves over to his fellow Saddler Stompers.

Jun waves back at him.

What look a little like feathers poke out from her stiff fingers.
